Cookie & Similar Technologies Policy

1. What This Policy Covers

This policy explains the cookies used on our website, and the similar on-device technologies used in our app. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we use any personal data more broadly, including data handled by the service providers who help us run Squinted.

2. Our Website

At this stage, our website is primarily used to explain what Squinted is, host our legal and policy documents, and let people join our waitlist ahead of the app launching. It does not currently use:

• Analytics or performance-tracking cookies.
• Advertising or profiling cookies.
• Social media tracking pixels.

Our waitlist sign-up form is provided by Formspree and does not use CAPTCHA or other spam-protection cookies. Formspree processes your submission to pass your details to us so we can email you when the app launches; it doesn't set tracking cookies on our website as part of this. You can read Formspree's own privacy policy for how they handle form submissions on their side.

Because we don't currently set any non-essential cookies on our website, we don't display a cookie consent banner — there's nothing that needs your consent under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) right now. If that changes — for example, if we introduce analytics or advertising in future — we'll add a consent mechanism at that point and update this policy first.

3. Our App

The Squinted app is a native iOS/Android app, not a website, so it doesn't use browser cookies. Instead, it uses secure on-device storage for a small number of essential purposes:

• Staying Logged In: We use a secure session token, stored on your device, so you don't have to log in every time you open the app. This is provided by our authentication system and is essential to using your account.
• Payments & Fraud Prevention: When you check out or receive a payout, Stripe (our payment provider) may use device-level identifiers as part of its fraud detection and security checks. This is essential to processing payments safely and is governed by Stripe's own privacy policy.

We do not currently use any analytics, advertising, or cross-app tracking technologies in the app. Our delivery, address lookup, and email notification providers (Sendcloud, Ideal Postcode, and Resend) are called from our own servers to process your order — they don't run any tracking code on your device. 4. Managing These Technologies

• You can manage cookies on our website through your browser settings at any time — though as we don't currently set non-essential cookies, there's nothing to opt out of.
• You can manage app permissions and stored data through your device's settings. Removing the app or clearing its data will remove the on-device session token described above, and you'll need to log in again.
• Further general guidance on cookies is available from the Information Commissioner's Office.

5. Keeping This Policy Up to Date

If we introduce any new technology that changes what's set out above — for example, adding analytics to understand how the app is used, or introducing advertising — we will update this policy, and where the law requires your consent (such as for non-essential cookies or app tracking), we'll ask for it first.
